James Kot

James Kot is a graduate of the University of Victoria's Acting Program (BFA) and has worked with renowned Directors, Actors, and Coaches from around the world.

An experienced acting coach, in 2010 James became the Lead Teaching Associate at McIlroy & Associates, where he taught and collaborated with Andrew McIlroy for over ten years.

As a Coach, James has coached Actors at Vancouver Film School, at Capilano University, and The Canadian College of Performing Arts.

James encourages actors to explore their personal truth so they may be transformed through character & story, and to fully harness the connective brilliance of being truly in the moment.

As an Actor, you can see James in recurring roles as Dr. Tommy Madden in Hallmark's Ruby Herring Mysteries and Agent Neil McNeil in DC's Legends of Tomorrow for CW. Other select credits include: ABC's The Good Doctor, CBS' The Twilight Zone, and CW's Supergirl, Supernatural, & Batwoman. You can also hear James voice ‘Kurt Baratier’ in the animated series Beyblade Burst.

James' students can be seen in Lead & Recurring roles in Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Kim's Convenience, Lost in Space, The 100, Travelers, When Calls The Heart, & Flora & Ulysses.

Other notable student roles include projects such as: Superman & Lois, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Good Doctor, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Debris, The Stand, The Imperfects, The Magicians, iZombie, See, Prison Break, The X-Files, The Man in the High Castle, Arrow, Supernatural, Lucifer, Wayward Pines, The Returned, Cedar Cove, Psych, If I Stay, Tomorrowland, and countless others.
